How to Get More Google Reviews (With Ready WhatsApp Templates)
A simple, rule-following system to get steady Google reviews from happy customers — plus copy-paste message templates.
Why reviews matter so much
- They help you rank. Review count, rating and freshness are part of how prominent Google considers your business.
- They decide who gets the click. When people see three clinics on Maps, most choose the one with more — and more recent — good reviews.
- They answer doubts. Reviews mentioning "clean", "on time", "friendly staff" do your selling for you.
Step 1: Get your review link
Open your Google Business Profile (search your business name on Google while logged in, or use the Google Business Profile app) and look for "Ask for reviews" or "Get more reviews". Google gives you a short link that opens the review box directly.
Save this link somewhere easy — in WhatsApp Business as a quick reply, on your phone notes, and with your front-desk staff.
Step 2: Ask at the right moment
Timing is everything. Ask when the customer is happiest:
Business | Best moment to ask |
|---|---|
Clinic / hospital | After a successful follow-up visit or discharge |
Coaching institute | After results, a good test score, or course completion |
Restaurant / café | When they compliment the food, or right after paying |
Hotel | At check-out, or a message the day after |
Salon / gym | After a service they clearly loved, or a milestone |
Service business | Right after the job is completed and paid |
Step 3: Use a short, personal message
Copy, personalise and send. Keep it short — one request, one link.
Template 1: General (English)
Template 2: Hinglish
Template 3: Clinic / hospital
Template 4: Coaching institute (for parents)
Step 4: Make it easy offline too
- QR code at the counter / reception that opens your review link, with a line like "Loved your visit? Tell others on Google."
- On your bill, prescription slip or receipt.
- In your email signature and WhatsApp Business away message.
- On your website — a "Review us on Google" button on the contact page.
Step 5: Reply to every review
Replying shows future customers you care, and encourages more people to review.
For negative reviews: stay calm, apologise for their experience, don't argue in public, and offer to resolve it offline.
Never confirm treatment details or share any medical information in a public reply — even if the patient mentioned it first.
What NOT to do
Google's policies prohibit certain review practices, and breaking them can lead to reviews being removed or your profile being restricted:
- Don't offer discounts, gifts or money in exchange for reviews.
- Don't buy reviews or use review-selling services.
- Don't ask only happy customers through a "filter" (review gating) — ask everyone fairly.
- Don't write reviews yourself or have staff and family post fake ones.
- Don't collect reviews on one shared device at your shop — many reviews from the same device/location can be filtered out.
A simple weekly routine
- Every day: send the review message to every customer served that day.
- Twice a week: reply to all new reviews.
- Once a month: count new reviews and note which staff/moments work best.
Consistency beats bursts. Five new reviews every week, every month, looks far more natural — and is more useful — than fifty in one week and then nothing.
